Characters Name: Elizabeth Middleford
Age: 13/14
Canon Point: Post Chapter 66
Species: Human
Gender: Female (both physically and mentally)
Orientation: Heterosexual (Ciel is her primary love of interest, not only because of engagement between them, but she always expresses great affection for him.)
History: Manga Chapters ♥ Character page
Appearance: ♥
Elizabeth is 5'3" (163 cm), taller than the average girl her age. Other notable physical features is her very curly pigtails and her usual Victorian fashion, which is commonly over the top dresses. She will be arriving in this dress.
Personality: This is the story of a certain girl...
At first impressions, Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Middleford is such a cheerful, little girl. The majority of her general attitude is, at most, very positive to match with her energetic personality. You could say that she very much like a "girly" girl, as being cute is a very top priority that she sees in herself. If something is cute, then she will love it. With such a positive point of view, there is just nothing but the smile on her lips. Elizabeth is also a very social girl, a huge lover of parties and she is not afraid to approach anyone to give a try with speaking of them, but she does know better on who to speak to and if the moment is right. Raised in a strict lifestyle of her family of knights, Elizabeth does know how to be a proper lady. She will always have respect for her elders and present herself in the proper matter depending on the situation. Her disposition to be an innocent, naive girl is most likely influenced by her aunt, Angeless Durless, who said that all ladies should act cute and weak, smile, and always be surrounded by nice things. Elizabeth did take her words by heart, agreeing with her statements. However, she isn't exactly the perfect princess as she think she is, as there are quite a few flaws of her human being. Perhaps the biggest positive and negative trait of her is her childish heart. With her curiosity and large energy can be quite enjoyable, it can be bit of a strain to others. She is very stubborn, usually never takes "no" as an answer when there is something she wants. Even if she tried to be a mature little lady, she still is prone to giving tantrums and crying very often. There are times where she can have a big ego, always enjoying getting complements from others, but she does give them back in return. She can be a handful, but she is still a good girl. The biggest task that she will always love doing is to make others happy, especially her fiancé Ciel Phantomhive.
"With my pitch-black feelings. One month of a pitch-black winter had passed..."
Unfortunately, her life hasn't been like a perfect fairy tale. Elizabeth is the daughter of Marquis Alexis Leon Middleford, the current leader of the British Knights, and Marchioness Frances Middleford. Along with her older brother Edward, she has been put into very strict training on learning the sword by her mother and she gets put into various matches. While people exclaim that she is a "genius" by the sword and praised by her talents, she actually really hates fencing. She finds the sport uncute and she is one of the few, not surprising if only, girls that does this sport. No matter how much she complains and tries to get out of it, her mother refuses to let her give up her training. Even if it's hard, her mother told her that she must do it for both Ciel's sake and her own sake. When they were young children, Ciel once told Elizabeth on how Frances is scary and he doesn't want a scary wife. That comment really haunted Elizabeth hence why she worked hard to keep her talents a secret and focus on making Ciel happy. On the murder of the Phantomhives along with the burning of the manor, every single bit of happiness has been crushed inside of Elizabeth. She lived an entire month as a very young widow, dressed in black and a depressed expression to match with it. Of course, it shocked her when Ciel returned with a mysterious butler by his side. Elizabeth noticed on how he lost his usual smile and laughter, which gave her the determination to becoming a wife that will be capable to protect Ciel along with doing her best to make him happy...Even if she does admits that there are time that she over does it.
"I don't want Ciel to have anymore bad memories. That's why I do what I can to cheer him up."
Ciel Phantomhive is one of the most important people in Elizabeth's life. Even if they weren't engaged cousins, bound to be married once they become young adults, their relationship is both strong yet complicated. While there are times where Ciel gets annoyed with her, Elizabeth is really one of the few people that he has left, losing her is really not an option for him. Even if her attempts of making him happy can get overdone or she keeps reminding him to always refer her to as Lizzy, both of them do have great care for each other. Elizabeth is unaware of what happened to Ciel on his birthday along with his actions that he does for the Queen, even if she knows that he is her watchdog. To keep her cute appearance in from of him, Elizabeth always hide her strengths from him so she can appear as the cute wife that he wanted from the start. As her fiancé continues to struggle to be seen like an adult, Elizabeth promises to herself to never leave his side and do her best to put a smile in that serious face.
Overall, Elizabeth is just another girl that is still growing up...A girl who does have her hardships and works hard to make everything perfect, but is also strong in her own sense of way, physically and sometimes emotionally. Most of the time, she will usually just appear happy and harmless, just keeping her high spirits up while trying to make everything cute and enjoyable in her life.
Abilities:
♥ Fencing: Elizabeth has been trained with a sword ever since she was a little girl. Despite her disapproval of fencing, she is actually very talented at the sport that people find her a "genius" at the sword. She is flexible enough to wield two swords very well in both hands.
♥ Physical Strength/Flexibility: Also a result from the strict training her mother gives her, Elizabeth does posses some physical strength. Examples of this are moments where she hugs Ciel so tight out of his comfort along with fighting the Bizarre Dolls during the shipwreck when she almost got attacked by them. Another example is that she was able to hide an Easter egg on top of a chandelier by just jumping against one surface to another.
♥ Artistic Abilities: Elizabeth is a very creative girl. With her great love of fashion, she just loves to dress others up in cute clothing, even if they are against the idea. During one of her visits, she decorates Ciel's manor with various ribbons and decor by herself, even if servants and Ciel disapproves her work. She is also talented in dancing and does have interest in poetry. She also has small experience in sewing, as she made Ciel a handkerchief for his 13th birthday.
♥ Etiquette: For growing up in the noble lifestyle, Elizabeth has been raised strictly on manners and discipline. She has great respects for her elders and often curtsies when introducing herself or greeting someone. She also has great handwriting and is most likely home-schooled by her mother or hired tutors.
Other:
♡ No exact age has been given for her, but she is at least a year older than Ciel.
♡ She's pretty self conscious on her height, usually wears low heeled shoes most of the time.
♡ Along with her hate for fencing, she doesn't normally show that side of herself except for certain situations. She would like to keep her "cute" image.

First Person: [voice]
[The two primary sounds that are coming from this call? Button mashing and the shuffling of papers. Elizabeth did found that envelope with her name on it, one of the first things she noticed after she woke up in an unknown but peaceful area. She's been reading all of this while trying to get this...phone to work.]
Oh, wonderful! I think I got it to work! A little odd that it is working without a chord, but it does seem to work.
[There is a bit concern in her voice though. A bit fretting, but she is trying her best to stay calm and positive.]
I do not know what I did to deserve all of these wonderful things in my possession, but this place...It seems very cute, right? This phone and these keys could use a little bit of my retouching, even if a simple decoration can make it cuter!
[She claps her hands together.]
Okay! I must find a way to contact my family and Ciel to come pick me up from this place! Home is where the heart is, as they say! These things are nice, but I have no use for a car and I already have a home! I would hate to worry anyone, especially my fiancé who must be waiting for me.
[Call end.]
Third Person: Everything feels so surreal to her, waking up with a gentle breeze blowing over her face. It's not exactly proper to fall asleep outside, but the weather is so nice right now. Then again, how did she get outside in the first place? The last things she remembers is returning home after the Easter party with Ciel and everyone. Oh, such a wonderful party even if there are a few certain things that does concern her right now. A small open in her eyes and the sun just shines right on her face. She should get back inside before someone catches her falling asleep in the middle of the day outside.
Only to find herself not at her home. Not even in London. This sudden change of scenery can't make it a dream, can it?
Elizabeth gets up and out of her chair, just taking the first looks of her new surroundings. House by house, everything looks just the same besides each house having a different number on them. One step and a bunch of keys fall into the green grass, must have been hiding in a fold out of her dress. How odd, she doesn't remember hiding keys in her dress! She picks them up, just staring at them. Are they...really her's? This entire situation is troublesome and confusing, what if everyone else thinks she is missing if she is not home?
Well, the keys give a house number and that house is just right behind her, not really standing out compared to the rest. She hopes that there is someone inside that will help her and she can get home safely.
